THE 18th EDITION AT THE AGRIVAR ESTATE (VARIGNANA – BO) ON 12 AND 13 JUNE
On 12 and 13 June, Enovitis in campo returns to the Emilia-Romagna vineyards, bringing its 18th edition to the Agrivar estate in Palazzo di Varignana, in the hills of Castel San Pietro Terme (BO). Enovitis in campo, Union Italiana Vini’s itinerant exhibition dedicated to technologies for viticulture, with over 150 exhibitors and about 7,000 visitors expected, represents the key event in Italy for vineyard machinery and equipment. An event not to be missed for wineries, oenologists, agronomists, technicians and winemakers interested in the most modern solutions for agronomic practices, from robotics to electrification, from correct soil and foliage management to organic farming, agrochemicals and biostimulants.
The Agrivar farm estate (https://agrivar.com/) was opened in 2015 to concentrate on the cultivation of olive trees and vines, and later orchards and saffron too. In 2016, the first vineyards were planted and today extend over 50 hectares. Bolognese entrepreneur Carlo Gherardi, founder of the estate and former patron and president of the multinational credit company CRIF (Centrale Rischi Finanziari S.p.A.), strongly believed in this vineyard project focussing on quality and the promotion of the territory.
The vineyards, grown with native (Sangiovese and Pinot Noir) and international vines, result in the production of four types of wines – Villa Amagioia Blanc de Noirs Metodo Classico Brut, Villa Amagioia Blanc de Blancs Metodo Classico Brut, Chardonnay Colli di Imola, Sangiovese Superiore Doc and Pinot Noir -, and make up a natural amphitheatre characterised by a very original microclimate due to the relationship between the moderate altitude and the orography of the territory, sandwiched between gullies and hills of olive trees. One highlight of the project, in terms of hospitality & experience too, is the creation of a new semi-underground cellar. This is set between the Amphitheatre of the vineyard and the various historic residences belonging to the Palazzo di Varignana resort, made with the natural materials representative of the place.
