The Cape Legends & Artisan Spirits Inter Hotel Challenge, which is now in its 5th year and instigated by foodie doyenne Annette Kesler from showcook.com, incorporates 30 hotels around South Africa who have each nominated a young chef and young wine steward to compete against one another in a series of cook-offs and tests, with an annual awards evening crowning the top candidates.
The best part about this is that it includes plenty of education, with SASA, the Sommelier Academy, Cape Wine Academy and the Cape Legends Brands partnering up, and each of these candidates spends time with the wine brands with which they are matched.This win-win programme ticks many boxes – branding, marketing, upliftment, education, transformation and developing passionate wine ambassadors.
