Who’s got talent?

Agri’s got Talent is looking for anyone who can sing, is 18 years and older, and has been working on a farm, in a pack house or cellar for at least three consecutive months in the past 12 months.

Now in its fourth year, Agri’s got Talent (AGT) has developed into the biggest song contest within the South African agricultural arena and because music cannot be fenced in and speaks to everyone, this is the perfect platform to unite the broad spectrum of people in agriculture.

The contest, which is presented by Hortgro, the VinPro Foundation and the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, gives agricultural workers with musical talent the opportunity to rise above their everyday work.

The project consists of a selection process, a week of training in singing and life skills for the top 10 finalists, as well as a gala event during which a team of judges appoint the winner. The winner receives a cash prize and stands the chance to perform at agricultural events.

You may only enter if you are an agricultural worker in one of the following industries: apple, pear, plum, peach, nectarine, apricots, wine grapes, pomegranate, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, cherry, dried fruit, honeybush tea, table grapes, fynbos or olives.

  • Entries close 15 May 2017.
